Katsuyuki Takahashi
Board of Directors and Director for NPO-Tokyo JC Relations Supporting Special
Committee
The necessity of cooperating with other bodies is extolled at
the Tokyo Junior Chamber. The NPO-Tokyo JC Relations Committee that is central
to such a role established the NPO Awards in fiscal 2002 and thereby showed one
of the methods for cooperation. This was not simply a show of public recognition
of active NPOs but an attitude of support for them. People who participate in
NPOs are truly citizens with high aspirations. There are many likeminded people
who wish to build a bright, prosperous society.
It is natural we collaborate with such people. It is not necessary to be too formal;
it is suffice simply to work together.
By sharing the issues held by NPOs and raising the same concerns, and promoting
the construction of a society in which NPOs can operate easily, the fiscal 2003
NPO-Tokyo JC Relations Committee would like to display whatever it can. Just like
faith is put in NPOs, I would like people to put faith in us and we do our very
best to meet their expectations. In September we will again hold the NPO Awards.
This is intended not merely as a presentation of awards, but as an enterprise
that provides opportunities for cooperation with NPOs that are normally involved
in different activities, likeminded appeals, and actual changes to society. I
am looking forward to the day of this event when we can meet the many individuals
from NPOs. I look forward to working with you all in fiscal 2003.
