A movement to create a Tokyo for the next generation, aiming for vibrant democracy

The transformation of democracy must be accompanied by the cognizance of the people, in whom sovereignty resides, that they “choose” and “participate in” society. We will provide many citizens with plentiful opportunities for social participation, with the aim of fomenting an awareness that they can choose how society should be, promoting campaigns whereby they can acquire a sense that it is they themselves who shape society.
2. Implementing campaigns that embody “responsible growth”
Society must continue to “grow” for our children’s future. However, selfish growth that is not accompanied by a sense of responsibility towards others and towards the future leads to self-destruction. Tokyo JC will continue to contribute to the development of society, aiming to not simply propose specific responsible campaigns but to put them into practise and achieve clear results.
3. Creating organizations and projects aimed at improving productivity
As a forum that gathers together young business-savvy financial experts, Tokyo JC must develop actions eyeing improved productivity that can gain maximum results from a minimum of resources. Young financial experts should possess the ability to effectively manage meetings, be flexible in their decision making, and develop attractive products in their business structure; these characteristics will be used to establish branding.
4. Formulating a vision aimed at realizing an “optimistic and affluent society” now that JC is in its sixties
2009 will be a significant year for us, the 60th anniversary of our inception. In order to act even more efficiently and effectively, JC must grasp the direction in which the times and values are moving and come to a clear understanding of the role that it must fulfil in regard to the future. What is urgently required now is that we construct methods embodying the target of our ideal “glittering future”, of our platform of an “optimistic and affluent society”.
