The JC movement is becoming increasingly important in an age when urban creation is connected with the country’s prosperity. The Social Design Council and the various committees support the movement to construct diverse social systems woven from the will of the people and their true sentiments. The Special Committee for the Commemorative Project develops the potential of society and JC as an entire project. Tokyo JC has 30 other units under its umbrella, and you can expect us to launch movements to create the future of Japan!■Committees etc. The Social Design (Enhanced Social Power) Council The Special Committee for the Commemorative Project |

I am in charge of the Human Design Council that develops movements from perspective of education and welfare based on our fundamental policy of “enhanced human power,” as well as the Special Committee for Media Strategy set up to further develop integrated linkage with the various media. I ask you all, are you satisfied with the current educational system? Let us get actively involved in it and stop criticizing it just objectively as somebody else’s problem. I also ask for a lively exchange of opinions at the Executive Chairperson’s Council that I chair.■Committees etc. Chairman of the Executive Chairperson’s Council The Human Design (Enhanced Human Power) Council The Special Committee for Media Strategy |

I am in charge of regular meetings and wanpaku sumo. We Jaycees are aiming to improve our community and the country, and to create a bright and prosperous society. Wanpaku sumo is an annual activity that underpins the local community and has the sound development of the young as its aim. The monthly regular meetings are held for us to consider such matters as the structure of society or the way that individuals should be, and also to improve our knowledge related to such issues. These projects form the very base of Tokyo JC and are of vital significance. I feel that my job this year is to make them even easier to understand for our members and to support the executives in charge. I would appreciate your continued goodwill throughout the coming year.■Committees etc. The Special Committee for Wanpaku Sumo The Special Steering Committee for Regular Meetings |

This year it is 60 years since the start of the Junior Chamber movement in Japan. The Special Committee for the 60th Anniversary Celebrations is in charge of planning and running an appropriate ceremony and forum so that we can welcome many participants on the memorable day of September 3. Next, the Area Design Council has as its aim “creation of an ideal city where people can feel the joy of life, by fully utilizing local resources.” We will run town development initiatives really needed by the people to allow them to feel the joy of life. Finally, the Council to Coordinate the Olympic Bid promotes linkage in activities to bring the Olympics to Tokyo. We will not simply run activities to host the Olympics but consider how to make use of the Olympics to create the new Tokyo and Tokyoite.■Committees etc. The Area Design (Enhanced Local Power) Council The Special Committee for the 60th Anniversary Celebrations The Council to Coordinate the Olympic Bid |
